I have been using LinkedIn for more than four years and I find it a very good and easy way to stay in touch with old colleagues and friends, especially those I don't want to be in regular contact with and who I wouldn't want to have as friends on other social media sites like Facebook. I get regular updates that help me to see when a friend has been promoted, changed jobs or even been made redundant (in which case I can offer support and suggestions of recruiters who might be able to help them). Personally, I have had many approaches about job opportunities as a result of my membership because the field I work in is particularly specific. If a head hunter wants a marketing professional in my field, he or she will find me very quickly. I assume that the approach I received for my current role was as a result of my membership of LinkedIn.
I've also been able to find skills there too - I recently found a creative design agency via LinkedIn, and found it's the best way to approach companies. |

Modern technology has its ways of making an ordinary person feel that she or he is in touch with the realistic world. For one thing, one person had this kind of idea. She was a good student the role model of the whole campus. An achiever, an award-winning declaimer and the total personification of the word diligent. That's Martin. Everything about him amazes me. I totally liked him from the first time we sat together during biology class. He was really friendly and kind. He even asked me to be his partner in the Junior-Senior prom. With this he sent me countless Facebook messages asking all sorts of questions. Little did I know that he was really interested in me. He asked me what I liked and what I didn't like. He was cunning and wise since he tried to reach the kind of crowd that I was hanging out with. This impressed me and it made me like him even more. Until now, he never fails to amaze me on how he works his charms on me. |

It is good to have a balance in this life that we live in these days. This is because without that balance, then it is going to be very hard to reach to the point of normalcy. My first year of university was not easy at all. It was very hard especially when it came to making friends. This was because I was torn from the friends that I have made since childhood and now I had to go to another country and study there. Most of my friends were in the same country that I was in but in different states and we could see each other less times. I would spend so much time in Facebook in that I would forget that there were other people whom I could befriend. One of my friends visited me and when she noticed that I had no friends, she advised me to cancel Facebook temporarily as I gained ground when it came to having friends. She told me that there were nice people who would make good friends only if I gave them a chance. So when I was canceling the Facebook account I only did it temporarily. |

Due to the popularity of social networks like facebook, you will be surprised to know some of the things that tick people off. My sister give birth and her husband was very happy about the joy. He took a lot of pictures and he posted them all on facebook just as he posted all her pregnancy photos. Now he had two girls to moon over and he was doing a very good job at it. From work, he would immediately go home to cook for his wife and to hang out with his baby girl and his wife. He took a photo of her breastfeeding the baby and uploaded it on facebook. My sister told him that his account was going to be closed, and that was one of Facebook problems. They did not condone breastfeeding pictures. That did not make sense to him at all, so he decided to put it down. He did not want his account to be closed down. That did not stop his obsession over his girls as he called them. That is an example of a man who loves his family. |

People are always wondering why I am in to facebook that much. I like facebook because there is a lot of peace and quiet and that is something that I always yearn even in day to day activities. My nieces and nephews are off to college and they love communication and that is why I joined facebook. They talked to me and convinced me to join facebook. They even said that was the one way that they would be able to check up on them considering that I was very protective of them. They used very many tactics to convince me to join the network. They showed me people who like using vulgar language and how one can report them and after facebook have confirmed so, their Facebook deleted. This happens to all those people who go against all the facebook rules. They even say that they suspect that I am one of those people who made up those rules. Eventually I joined the site because that is the one site that knows what I prefer. |

Stalkers are not people that one can easily evade. These are people who are determined to make your private life very difficult because they will always be on your face. There are those people who have restraining orders against such people because their main motivation is to get on your way as much as possible. I had this problem in college, on my first year. There is this guy who constantly followed me around and he used to make me really nervous. Then one day he mastered up courage and asked me out and I turned him down because I was seeing someone who happened to be in the same university. He did not give up he kept on following me around until my boyfriend warned him against following me around and in turn spend a lot of time with me instead. He then registered in facebook using false names and I added him as my friends and he started it again, and this time I just did the facebook delete friend. I chose to ignore him and I never walked round campus alone. |

I grew up in a house full of ladies with no father figure whatsoever. I was brought up my mother and my aunties and we all lived in the house that our grandmother left us. I do not know what ever happened to the men in our lives and whenever I asked they would tell me that we did not need men, we can make it without them. That is the environment that I grew in and that affected my dating life because I never thought of going out with any of the boys who asked me out because my mother and aunts always told me that they were interested in one thing, intimacy. When I went to college, I met a guy who made me think other wise. He pursued me restlessly until finally he got me. On our first date, he cooked and I noticed the recipe was from one of the cook books of sophie dahl, a renown cook book author. Now this is something that I did not anticipate and when it happened, I learned that men made women happy because I was happy. |

It is a happy time on this side of heaven as one can locate his or her friends whom they lost contact of a long time ago. Remember your high school or college who you would like to meet again but you do not know how to trace them? Worry no more because there is a very good solution to this. There are several networking sites on the internet nowadays which make it possible for one to know how to once again meet their friends. This is facebook networking site. Facebook has assisted many pass out information to those who needs it for example when one is having a wedding, newborn or funeral you can post the happenings on facebook. As everyone knows graffiti is an art, and indeed, people even buy it as art now - look at Banksy prints as a fine example of how people are now appreciating graffiti as art.
But nowadays many people think that this kind of art is associated with crime. And yet this is not true. When I was a kid I used to do paintings on my room wall with pencils. Later I started to add some color to those paintings. I continued this act in school walls and noticed by my school teacher. He encouraged me, but he guided me the correct way to improve and use this art. We even had competitions at school that involved various forms of graffiti. Those type of competitions encouraged my kind of people to improve their artistic abilities. Later I started to earn money from my art. In the beginning I used this art just to get pocket money - later I got lot of money, and even I can manage my studies with that and I now I am able to help my family too. I really thank those who helped myself in those early days. |

OK, I know most people associate art with Van Gogh prints hanging on some art student's walls or whatnot, but art is much more than paying homage to the recognised masters. I want to talk about one modern artist as an example of how art can be enjoyed by ANYONE.
Marilyn Manson started out as Marilyn Manson and the Spooky Kids. During this time he started with drawings and paintings of what some would say is morbid art. He portrayed the darker side of things that most people did not want to accept. A reality of pain and trials through every day art. His experimentation with drugs and his new drink Mansinthe which is absinthe he brought his hallucinations to paper. Alot of his music reflected his dark paintings and drawings. His art landed from how he seen himself in different times to where he seen himself later down the road. Marilyn Manson is mostly known for his music but not for his art work. He is one of the only rock starts who drew his own art for his albums. Marilyn Manson was finally recognized for his artwork in the early 2000's. Still not many people know of his work. Take a change and view google immages of some of Marilyn Manson's art work. |
