Jewelry organizers: Practical gift for women

posted on 19 February 2012

It is a fact that finding the right gift for women is sometimes difficult to do. It is already given that women like clothes, shoes, jewelry and bags. But the most difficult question anyone usually encounter is “What kind does she like?”. There is no doubt that girls can be pretty difficult to predict when it comes to such things. Most of the time, they would prefer that they will be the one to choose for themselves. In such cases, the best that you should do is to give them a gift that’s practical. Something that they wills surely use no matter what. One of the best practical gifts for women are jewelry organizers. Most, if not all, women have more than one necklace, bracelet or earrings. They have them in different colors and designs depending on the style they want to convey. An organizer for their jewelry is definitely something that will be of great use to them.

I Need a Prada Handbag for Christmas

posted on 21 December 2011

Handbags are vital accessories for me - as vital as the costume jewellery I own. They always make my outfits look a million dollars. I am hoping to get a few designer handbags for Christmas. I recently discovered these particular type of handbags and refuse to use anything else. I have given friends and relatives a couple of hints. Prada handbags are beautiful. I would be highly appreciative of anyone who gives me one as a gift. All their designs are lovely. I prefer black Prada handbags as they can be used for day or evening wear. I recently saw an excellent black Prada tote bag. It was only a couple of thousand. Real leather. It would be ideal for work as I could take all my make up and paperwork in it. I would love to take this bag shopping with me as I would be able to show it off to my friends. I hope I get a matching purse to go with the handbag as I none of my current purses look any good.

I Absolute Love My Crocs Yukon Clogs

posted on 3 December 2011

I bought my first pair of Yukon Clogs (chocolate colored) from Crocs about 5 months ago. I fell in love with them the first time that I wore them. They are incredibly comfortable and “dressy” enough, in my opinion, to wear with khaki pants. I thought they were so awesome that I bought a pair of black ones a couple months later. I really love both pairs. I wear one pair or the other to work almost every day. The air vents help keep you cool so your feet don’t get all sweaty. I will say that they are probably not a “barefoot sandal,” meaning that you need to wear socks with them. The insoles have little rubber knobs on them that help massage your feet and allow for extra airflow, but they can really irritate bare skin. Overall, I would recommend Crocs Yukon Clogs to anyone looking for comfortable shoes to wear with khaki or black pants.

This Little Handbag of Mine

posted on 4 July 2011

Being a man in a medium-sized city, the second-largest in Kentucky to be exact, I’ve found a few trends that really don’t catch on. Trucker hats, short shorts, french hats, and the later one seemed to be handbags. I'm talking "manbags" here. Perhaps not something as effeminate as clutch bags, but something a man can practically carry around without being laughed at. A few of the more hip students on campus and younger artisans around town traveled in style with their handbags, making it look posh, but I never thought I had the “gusto” to sport one about the masses. One morning upon going to a local farmers market, a young girl walked up to me and handed me a free blue handbag in which to put my vegetables, bread, honey, eggs, and organic cheese in. Little did I know that this would become a regular fashion accessory for me. I found myself putting books in it, flyers to pass around town, and even taking it to the grocery store with me. It has become on of the most frequent sights to see wrapped around my right arm in recent months, and all thanks to the Bowling Green Farmer’s Market.

Levi's 517 Low Boot Cut: My Favorite Jeans

posted on 18 June 2011

As a very tall man, sometimes fashion can be a rough subject. Finding clothes that fit right and still look good is often a challenge, especially when it comes to jeans. I struggled for years to find the right brand and style of jeans that would look good on me, and had zero luck until I came across Levi's 517 Low Boot Cut jeans. They are perfect, and provide a great stylish look for tall man like myself. They also go well with my Hotter shoes too (being tall, naturally I have large feet!). The tapered legs look great with not only boots, but just about any type of shoe I could wear, and Levi's offers many different colors and styles of wash, from light blue for relaxed casual days all the way to dark, dressy blue. The denim is of great, high quality, and the seams are strong and resist fraying for longer than any other jeans I've ever owned. I own at least 8 pairs and would recommend them to anyone looking for a great looking pair of quality jeans.

Not the Wedding Of The Century

posted on 27 May 2011

As I look back at my own wedding experience, almost exactly 14 years ago, I realize that it was not the wedding of the century, but it was a special day. It was special because I was going to marry my best friend, while surrounded by family and good friends, and it was a day when memories would be made. We didn’t have a fancy wedding - I didn't even have a bridal tiara - because that wasn’t our style, or within our budget. We wanted the day to be a reflection of our personalities, even if that meant keeping things simple. So, we had peanuts and goldfish crackers for hors d'oeuvres, and everyone got a container of bubbles to blow at us as we walked in the room. We served inexpensive wine at the reception and the menu was a simple buffet line, but we splurged on the cake. My flowers turned out beautifully and the wedding went on without a hitch. Some might say our wedding was low class, but I say it was warm, relaxing and a lot of fun for everyone. I enjoyed watching my grandparents and parents dance for the first time in years. I’ve been to fancier weddings, but strangely I don’t remember much about them. The simple, down to earth weddings are the ones that seem to bring back the best memories.

Freshwater Pearls: Real Gems That Are Inexpensive And Fun To Own

posted on 17 May 2011

The freshwater pearl is produced in freshwater mussels by a similar grafting technique to those of saltwater pearls. The difference between the two is that many grafts are placed into the shells of a freshwater mussel to produce a typically lower grade of pearl in greater numbers. Because of this, freshwater pearl jewelry is easy to own due to its lower price and greater production numbers. Although items made from the freshwater pearl are usually considered to be of a lower quality, they are still beautiful and can be used in very large numbers to create jewelry items containing extravagant numbers of the pearls, usually in the multiple strands of necklaces and bracelets. The freshwater pearl has a similar luster to its more valuable counterpart, but an irregular rather than smooth surface, which gave it its nickname, ""rice krispie pearl."" Affordable and versatile, freshwater pearl jewelry is of much better quality today than when it first became popular in the 1970s and 80s.

On Fashion Models and Atlantis Strapless bras!

posted on 3 January 2011

Working as a "runner" for a fashion shoot company, I have good experience of running a show just by watching the team work. It's all rather meticulous - the director is fussy about lighting in particular, as well as background colours. We were show-casing the Atlantis strapless bra on our most recent shoot, and I can tell you this - the hardest thing to organize for a fashion shoot are the models. They turn up late, make a big fuss over nothing - some leave early complaining of the makeup artist or whatnot - what a pain in the neck many of them are! If I ran my own show, I woudn't hire these prima donnas - but normal women off the street - and give them a chance to shine. I know I could sell as much - if not more - of the fashion accessories on show - because women like to see other "real" women wearing these items.

My Pink Tote Bag Contrasts So Well with the Snow!

posted on 2 January 2011

My pink tote bag contrasts so well with the snow! The bright pink and the snow make for a brilliant contrast. This year we've had it fairly bad in terms of snow and cold weather - it's enough to make me want to fully hibernate. But we must hope for milder weather soon, otherwise I'll go insane! The snow makes it so trecherous to walk around - I've already fallen over a few times and my neighbour is in hospital from a bad fall (she's elderly and I think she'll be in there for some time). Once those buds start appearing on the trees, my mood will change. I'm a real fashion obsessive and no matter how hard I try to be fashionable in the winter, it's just so much easier in the spring and summer to look good! So please spring, come early this year - we've had it bad this winter!

Express Yourself During These Miserable Times

posted on 31 December 2010

I don't care if it's cold or if we're in a recession - we have one short life to live, so make the most of each day. Don't read the papers - they love to give you all the bad news as does the TV. If it's cold, go out anyway - go for a walk - you'll soon warm up. As for clothing, you don't need to wear frumpy clothes just because it's cold outside. I like to put on my black lace gloves just as a matter of expressing my individuality. I know - it's hard to change - we're all creatures of habit, BUT if you can change, you will see that much more is possible in the day to day life. Just a simple thing like wearing some more extravagant clothing will show you that you have power of your choices, and that will open up more opportunities for you.
