Keeping Nice and Cosy!

What I love about cool evenings is the joy of sitting in front of a roaring fire or woodburning stove. There are some really fabulous antique woodburning stoves that are not only beautiful but also provide a really practical way of keeping warm.
Some of the old French Godin models for example are really decorative, or there are the Nordic Jotul stoves which are immensely efficient. These are often fabricated from cast iron which allows the heat to radiate into the room.
It is very important however to ensure that you fit the correct size stove with an appropriate heat output for your size of room.
Some woodburning stoves, also have a back boiler option, which will also provide you with hot water or even run a central heating system.
It cannot also be forgotten what great ritual it is to chop and store the wood ready for winter... it really gives a home a nice and cosy feel.
