On Taking Photos and Facebook

posted on 26 November 2011

I made my Facebook account in November of 2009, and I've had a lot of fun with it ever since. I love composing statuses, playing some of the games and reading what my friends are up to. I think it's a great way to communicate. Another thing I like is that I can post photos of myself, my friends and my family. I have three daughters, and this is a great way to show them to distant family members and friends who don't see them in person on a regular basis. I love to post photos of them in their halloween costumes every year, and I post a lot of Christmas ones as well. I'm no specialist - not like my friend who specialises in baby photography, but I do enjoy taking photos. Photos of these special times let others see how much fun we have together as a family, and they give those who can't be with us but would like to an opportunity to at least see some of what went on. I like when others do this as well because I feel like I know more about them from their photos. Good examples of this are all of my sister's photos of her kids. She moved across the country two years ago, so I don't get to see her son and daughter much at all. I really only know my niece from pictures since she was only two months old when they moved away. It's nice that I can see photos of her in the different stages of her life. I also show them to my girls so they know who their aunt and cousins are by sight. It is very important to my sister that her nieces always realize who she and her kids are and that they don't forget about them.

Golf is a game for people who enjoy concentration

posted on 21 October 2011

If my life depended on playing golf or chess, then I would be in danger. This is because I am a scatter brain. I could never concentrate on one thing for a long time. When I joined college, I joined the softball team and my twin sister joined the golf team. She is a very intuitive person. Our friends call her the critical thinker and I am the doer. She realized she can play golf in high school but she was not sure about it. She even talked to a golf psychologist. She wanted to know the type of people who had a shot at playing golf. So they went to play golf and he taught her a few moves here and there. After a few sessions she was picking up and was enjoying the game. When the golf psychologist asked her what she liked about golf, she said that concentration was what amazed her. Just the fact that she can eye the golf ball and put all her concentration there was amazing. He said she deserved to play golf because she understood the game.

Mothers also need to get out once in a while

Women who have kids cannot remember the last time that they dressed up and went out and had such a good time without wondering if their children are okay or not. There are even women who say that they stopped buying nice clothes because eventually their kids are going to spill food on them or even spit thus making them refrain from ruining perfectly good clothes. Such women are advised to get out once in a while away from the kids so that they can recharge and also maintain a certain sense of normalcy in their lives. That is why they are given vouchers for pamper treats at the spa. These treats include them being on total relaxation mode. Anything other than that will not be considered to be a pamper treat. What happens is that they can choose to get a full body massage. Not at their homes but at a spa area that is very peaceful and just what they need. There are also other treats like pedicure and manicure, which are all very refreshing especially for them.

Personality can be enduring but not unchangeable.

posted on 19 January 2011

Personality change can be hard but not impossible at all. So many people believe its hard to change their personalities especially when they have very poor personalities like low self esteem and introversion, and they have a very hard time trying to deal with others. These people face very many hardships in life, to an extent of even contemplating committing suicide to end their lives once and for all. This can easily be resolved. confidence coaching in schools can help our children to change their personality to suitable ones. Confidence is necessary if one has to develop a strong self esteem and overcome all fears that are brought by low self esteem. Once a person learns how to be confident, their personality starts changing slowly and eventually they adopt an outgoing personality which is essential in life for better coping. An outgoing person will never suffer stress for instance because they know how to deal with their stressing factors unlike an introverted person. Its not too late to change your personality, even though you are still in your old age.

Indoor Cycle Racing Looked Very Strategic

posted on 8 January 2011

I must admit to having to stifle a laugh when I watched some indoor cycling on the TV. There were just two racers - and at some points during the race, they were virtually at a standstill - it was as if neither of them wanted to be the one in front (in fact that was the case) as the person behind could choose when to break away leaving the one in front no time to catch up. They all wore very tight cycle clothing to help with aerodynamics, but it was the element of surprise that would give the winner the edge. It made me realise how strategic the sport was, and even how much balance was required to keep your bike at a virtual standstill while your competitor does the same - the slightest momentum forward could indicate a breakaway or just a bluff - it was all actually very absorbing.
