Turning our Little Cabin in the Woods Into a Dream Home for Two

The house that we currently live in is super tiny. Beyond tiny really, it's a one room cabin with a bathroom. If we could add anything, it would be space. What we really need is a real bedroom and somewhere to put a table. If we had the money, we'd knock out what is currently our back living room wall. We'd add about 4 feet to the living room so that we had enough space to put a coffee table and a couch. We'd then build a new wall and a separate bedroom. Where the kitchen is now, we'd extend about 3 feet in all directions, giving us enough room to put in a real refrigerator, a stove and over, and a dining room table. We'd also like to add some more storage space, so we'd probably install a set of kitchen cabinets so that we'd have some place to put our dishes. But we don't have the budget unfortunately, so we'll make do with what we've got for now.

Not only is our house small, so is our garden. Given the chance, I'd cut right back on all the shrubbery, get rid of the shed, and just grow a nice patch of grass. I'd buy one of those pop up marquees if I needed some shelter - as I could easily disassemble it when I didn't need it.
